WaPo: U.S. pressures Kyiv to replace U.N. resolution condemning Russia

Earlier reports yesterday informed that the Trump Administration suggested a different UN resolution text than Ukraine where Russia would not be named as aggressor and seized territories would not be called for return to Ukraine.
Today, WaPo reports that the Trump Administration pressured V Selensky to withdraw the Ukrainian strong worded resolution text so that the UN General Assembly can vote only on the US text.
Selensky refused to withdraw the Ukrainian draft resolution.
The US draft resolution was seen by Ukraine ” as an attempt to limit any expression of Russian responsibility for the invasion, especially as the request came after U.S. President Donald Trump falsely accused Ukraine of starting the war.”
According to WaPo a real fight developed around the resolution text:
Washington reviewed the Ukrainian proposed resolution and demanded to make some changes to make it weaker, including “pro-Russian” language in the document. Ukraine refused the changes. Then Washington proposed a new resolution and demanded Ukraine to withdraw its version, but Ukraine had already agreed upon it with other partner nations (EU) that planned to sign it and refused to withdraw their text.
Tomorrow should be the UN General Assembly vote. A confusing situation emerges which will further create conflict between Trump and Selensky.
WaPo, the anti-Trump paper, is of course not on the US side, but is defending Selensky’s interests.
