“China is now Russia’s most important trading partner, accounting for around 40% of its imports and 30% of its exports in 2024. Crucial imports for the military industry are routed through China and Hong Kong,” DW reports.
India is an important export market for Russian energy and minerals resources, as well as for military goods.
Both, China and Russia, are therefore, strategic partners of Russia and dependent on the Russian export of energy and minerals. Russia depends on imports of technological goods from China and India.
It is excluded that the US puts pressure on China and India, forbidding both countries to trade with Russia.
India is a close ally of the UK, now even more, since both countries have signed recently a trade deal which is beneficial to the UK. India is also an important ally of the US in the geopolitical struggle with China. And China is the 3nd largest economy, the largest exporter in the World. US sanctions on China will be the nuclear version compared with the tariffs Donald Trump recently imposed. The US and the World economy will be directly hit.
As such, Russia can be sure of its most important trading partners and will not expect secondary sanctions on China and India. Of course, both countries assured Russia for the support, during the latest WWII celebration days.
