Xi hails ‘confident’ China-Russia ties as Putin welcomes ‘dear friend’ to Kremlin

The Guardian writes: “The two leaders presented a united front in opposition to a US-led global order they openly reject. Their display of solidarity comes as Donald Trump, the US president, wages a trade war against China and pushes Russia toward peace talks over Ukraine.

Xi and Putin signed a joint statement to further strengthen their ties and the latter announced plans to visit China in the autumn to mark the anniversary of Japan’s defeat in the second world war.”

The view of the Guardian can be confirmed. China and Russia express at any possible occasion their coordinates procedure. Both are targets of Western countries through trade war, sanctions and divers military and intelligence operations.

Both countries also are involved in the Pakistan-India conflict. Russia had in the past a successful negotiator role whereby China has a close relationship with Pakistan. Russia and India a close trading partners, since long. This constellation can bring peace to India and Pakistan, unless it is a Western intent to fire up the conflict which also would create some dissonance in the Russia-China relationship.

Generally, it can be expected that Putin and Xi will agree on the India-Pakistan matter and will help to eradicate Western influence. In terms of their larger agreement, Putin and Xi have found a solid agreement on the Ukraine matter.
