YahooNews: Russia’s Medvedev threatens war with NATO over Ukraine peacekeepers

Dmitry Medvedev, Russia’s former President and today chairman of Russia’s Security Council, said that NATO troops on the ground in Ukraine means war between Russia and NATO.
The Russian position has not changed since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine. Russia has always warned NATO not to get involved, and NATO countries never sent (official) troops to Ukraine. It has been reported that Russia hit a few times NATO under cover troops in Ukraine, with casualties. Regularly, Russia captures or kills mercenaries from NATO countries. But never Russia has considered it an act of war by NATO.
As well, the huge amounts weapons deliveries, the provision of training and target data for Ukraine were not important enough that Russia considers NATO directly at war with Russia.
Of course, NATO troops side by side with Ukrainians will be another game and NATO troops will be targets for Russia. WWIII and a nuclear escalation become a terrible scenario of reality. France, UK and other countries may have got the message.
