Olaf Scholz, the German Chancellor, called the US selfish for following V Selensky’s offer to get Ukrainian resources for further financial and military help.
Scholz would need to answer to his taxpayer why aid for Ukraine should not be reimbursed somehow.
What Scholz is hiding: Ukraine has huge reserves in rare earths. These minerals and metals are important for high tech products, military goods etc. Russia’s military incursion into Ukraine has blocked the majority of rare earths reserves in Ukraine, disrupting markets, complicating the purchase, in particular, for weapons manufacturers or battery producers.
The US has a major interest to secure these raw materials. So does Germany – its new green policies depend on these special materials.
It is, therefore, not for Ukraine that Scholz calls Trump selfish, but for his own interests, industry and his ideological green transformation of industry and society.
