In response to rumors in the US press that the US will propose a peace deal to Russia which will allow Russia to legally retain sovereignty over Crimea, V Selensky said “no”.
If this is a deal breaker, the World will see it tomorrow.
The new reports as well: “Zelensky said the Ukrainian delegation going to London will have a mandate to discuss terms for a full or partial ceasefire with Russia. Ukraine is ready to negotiate with Russia in any format but only after an unconditional halt to hostilities, he added.”
This seems to be the answer to President Putin’s suggestion to speak to Selesnky directly. This is a “no” until Russia unconditionally stops its attacks.
Tomorrow, 23 April 2025 can be considered a crucial day for the negotiations for peace in Ukraine. The US Administration wants to stop the war and if Ukraine and Europe will not accept the conditions negotiated with Russia, the US will simply walk away.
This a simple scenario but justifiable for President Trump as the US never took care of its stubborn and non-obedient proxies.
The US retreat from the Ukrainian battlefield can provoke a great chaos in the rest of Europe. Therefore, the European allies, in their own interest, should better take Trump’s position and make Selensky the obedient proxy he was before
